Happy Halloween Furls!

Here's a couple of my favorite Halloween themed tracks that are sure to make your Halloween even more furly. What's Halloween without Roky Erickson? Here's "I Walked With a Zombie" off The Evil One from '80...

Here's a great funky burner by Gene "Bowlegs" Miller titled "Frankenstein Walk" from '69...

This track is killer. Halloween or not. October Country with "My Girlfriend is a Witch" from '68...

Happy Birthday Furl Tracks!

Happy first birthday Furl Tracks! I say you've had a pretty good first year of existence, besides your complete lack of respect for authority and sometimes snail-paced download speeds. You were born a rebel which I believe adds to your lore, that and of course the copious amounts of free music you dish out. All in all you've had a good run giving the gift of music to a wide array of audiophiles around the world. I know, sometimes your originality lacks, but that's probably due to the constant neglect you've endured which is not your fault. There, there, don't be sad- this is a happy day, I'm sure you'll have many more years of filling your audience's lofty earholes ahead of you. Now go eat your cake...

Happy Halloween!

Everyone needs to be like this kid for Halloween, I'm sure you've seen this clip from a local news station in Portland a couple years back featuring the kid above, if you haven't- see it here. Love this clip, watch it every Halloween. Here's one of my favorite Halloween tracks by The Frantics, a rad 60's Seattle garage band with the instrumental "Werewolf." This ranks up there with the classic "Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett & the Cryptkickers for me, this fuzzy, creepy surf riff and the sounds of a snarlin' Werewolf in the background is perfect for the day of the dead. Now get out there are celebrate the darkness you fuckers...

Merry Christmas

Well, it's Christmas again. I've posted three completely different stocking stuffers that are sure to fit your mood this holiday season. If you have the Christmas spirit, Run-DMC's "Christmas in Hollis" is for you. I can still remember waking up on Christmas day in the 80's and seeing this classic video on MTV. If you're the Grinch this year and are convinced that Christmas is chalked full of mass consumerism to fuel our greedy capitalistic society then I would listen to Fear's "Fuck Christmas." Thanks to the blog of all blogs the Hearse for this track. Lastly, if you're just a straight up pervert or sick fucker then you will thoroughly enjoy one of my personal hero's takes on XXX-Mas. "Jingle Fuckin' Bells" by Blowfly describes one dirty-ass Santa. Happy Holiday's Bitches!

Gobble Gobble

Tryptophan has kicked in, so I'll keep this post short. When I was cooking earlier today, I was listening so some old surf and funk 45's. I've included two tracks, a great spacey surf joint titled "Interplanetaire" by the Les Talismans and a killer funk instrumental "A Day In the Life" by Chocolate Snow. Hope everyone had a good turkey day, don't shit your pants.
