While we're on the topic of covers, I've had this instrumental "Captain Purple Rides Again" by Round Trip Ticket for a while now, its a smooth fuzzy jam:
I then recently realized this is an instrumental remake of the Neil Young cover "Down By The River" by Purple Snow. "Captain Purple Rides Again" makes sense now, as this is one bad-ass cover, a dark soul burner with a completely different edge than the original Neil Young version. The haunting chorus, unique singing and funk beat equals one of the best covers I've heard in a long time...
